UPS to Introduce New Peak Surcharges

Attention E-Ship UPS Customers: UPS is introducing new Peak Surcharges that are applicable during defined periods, depending on service level and package characteristics.

At various times throughout the year, including the upcoming November and December holiday season, UPS must flex its delivery network to meet increased demand. According to UPS, in order to help enable them to continue to provide best-in-class value to customers while offsetting some of the additional expenses incurred during significant volume surges, UPS will begin implementing Peak Surcharges in 2017.

United States Import Peak Surcharges

For imports to the U.S., packages in designated international lanes will be subject to a Peak Surcharge during specified Peak Periods. Applicable lanes, Peak Surcharges, and Peak Periods will be available on http://www.rates.ups.com/ on or before September 1, 2017, and will be updated from time-to-time as applicable lanes, Peak Periods and/or Peak Surcharges change. Please refer to this website prior to shipment for details.

If you are an E-Ship customer and want to be kept up to date by us on these upcoming UPS Peak Surcharges, please send us an email at education@lanhamassoc.com to be added to our distribution list for technical information of this nature. Rest assured that we are in communication with UPS on this change inside E-Ship and will be updating all E-Ship versions running in NAV 5.0 and newer.
