Security Management
Security Management for Navision adds the long
awaited ability to implement Field Level Security in Microsoft
Navision. The Navision system manager can configure Security
Management for a user or group of users to dynamically hide fields
or allow them to be viewed but not edited. In addition to
field level security the Security Manager can also set filters on
tables based on a user or group of users.
Field Level Security
The following script show the setup
and effects of Field Level Security.
- Notice that the following
Customer Card shows all fields on a standard customer card.
- The following Security Setup hides
the Balance field and sets the Credit Limit field to be
non-editable for USER1.
- When logging on as USER1 the Balance
field does not show and the Credit Limit field is viewable but can
not be edited.
Setting Table Filters
The following script illustrates the setting of
table filters based on a user or user group:
- Notice the G/L Account list without a
security level filter.
- Security setup of table filters based on a user or user
group. Up to three fields can be included in the filter.
- When logging on as USER1 the G/L Account List only
shows G/L Accounts between 65600 and 65800
